JSON Tick Data to Excel: Trades and Quotes to a Sheet
Sometimes a sheet is all you need: look at a sample of trades, filter a symbol, make a chart. Here is how to get JSON ticks into Excel.
Open the JSON to Excel converter
Open the JSON to Excel converter, drop the file or paste the data, and download the .xlsx. A list of records becomes the rows, and nested fields are flattened into columns named by their path. The converter writes a real Excel file with a header row and number and date types, rather than text that Excel has to guess.
Check the timestamp column. Excel shows only seconds by default, so a millisecond time can look rounded even when the value is kept. Format the column as a custom time with milliseconds, or keep the timestamp as text if you need the exact string. Keep symbols as text so codes stay unchanged.
The limit is 1,048,576 rows per sheet, and a busy symbol can pass that in a day. Check the row count first. If the file is longer, split it into parts, filter it to the symbols or hours you need, or use CSV or Parquet and a database or script for the full history.
Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert JSON to Excel?
Drop your JSON file (or paste the data), check the options, click Convert and download the Excel result.
How big can a file be?
It depends on your device. A few hundred MB usually works.
Which conversions does the Format Converter support?
Any direction between JSON, CSV, Parquet and Excel (.xlsx), for one file or a whole folder. Nested JSON is flattened into columns such as address.city. For Excel, the first sheet is read; old .xls files are not supported.
Why did my number or date change after converting?
Types are detected from the values. Turn off "Detect types" to keep everything as text, which also keeps leading zeros in IDs and phone numbers.
Tip: If you have more than 1,048,576 ticks, filter or split first. Excel will not show the rest.
